• Ext is a client-side, JavaScript framework for building web applications 
  In early 2006, Jack Slocum began working on a set of extension utilities for the Yahoo! User Interface (YUI) library. These extensions were quickly organized into an independent library of code and distributed under the name "yui-ext." In the fall of 2006, Jack released version .33 of yui-ext, which turned out to be the final version of the code under that name (and under the open source BSD license). By the end of the year, the library had gained so much in popularity that the name was changed simply to Ext, a reflection of its maturity and independence as a framework. A company was formed in early 2007, and Ext is now dual-licensed under the LGPL and a commercial license. The library officially hit version 1.0 on April 1, 2007.

• Spry framework for Ajax, from Adobe Labs 
  The Spry framework is a way to use the data capabilities that enable designers to incorporate XML, JSON or HTML data into their documents using HTML, CSS, and a minimal amount of JavaScript, without the need for refreshing the entire page. The Spry framework is HTML-centric, and easy to implement for users with basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The framework was designed such that the markup is simple and the JavaScript is minimal. The Spry framework can be used by anyone who is authoring for the web in their tool of choice.

• SproutCore is a full MVC framework in JavaScript 
  Unlike other frameworks, SproutCore is a full-stack application framework. That means it contains tools to not only create widgets and special effects, but also to manage your model data and application logic. It takes the use of JavaScript beyond simple page enhancements to creating full client-side applications that compete with the likes of Flash and Silverlight.
  The core technology the ties SproutCore together is something called Bindings that allows you to write JavaScript that will automatically run whenever a property value changes. Using bindings you can create very complex applications that will behave consistently all the time with very little code. Just ask any Cocoa developer.

• Exhibit: a lightweight structured data publishing framework 
  Exhibit is a lightweight structured data publishing framework that lets you create web pages with support for sorting, filtering, and rich visualizations by writing only HTML and optionally some CSS and Javascript code.
  Exhibit essentially removes the need for a database or a server side web application. Its Javascript-based engine makes it easy for everyone who has a little bit of knowledge of HTML and small data sets to share them with the world and let people easily interact with them.

• Functional JavaScript 
  Functional is a JavaScript library for functional programming. It defines the standard higher-order functions (map, reduce, filter) that you can read about elsewhere on the web. It also defines functions for partial function application and function-level programming: curry, partial, compose, guard, and until. Finally, it introduces “string lambdas”, which let you write 'x -> x+1', 'x+1', or even '+1' as synonyms for function(x) {return x+1}.
