Matrex is a vectorial spreadsheet
It gives you the same functionalities of a classic spreadsheet application in a new, different way.
Matrex is excellent when working with blocks of data coming from databases, feeds, files, external applications, simulations.
Matrex is different but it has everything you need: presentations (spreadsheets) and charts. Matrex is the perfect tool for mathematical models and for other statistical, engineering, physical, and generally scientific calculations.
[Unfortunately it crashes as soon as I attempt to import data from a 16 MB csv file, with no hint in the logfile as to what happened]

Fins is a modern web application framework written in Pike.
Fins uses the MVC design architecture, and thus is similar Ruby on Rails. Like Rails, Fins avoids the tendency to have configuration files that repeat what is already written in code. By having the code be the configuration, mistakes, omissions and duplication of effort are avoided and designer and developer efficiency is maximized.
While Fins is currently very early in its development lifecycle, it's already very usable for production deployments.

PyQwt plots data with Numerical Python and PyQt
PyQwt is a set of Python bindings for the Qwt C++ class library which extends the Qt framework with widgets for scientific and engineering applications. It provides a widget to plot 2-dimensional data and various widgets to display and control bounded or unbounded floating point values. It allows you to integrate PyQt, Qt, Qwt, the Numerical Python extensions, and optionally SciPy in a GUI Python application or in an interactive Python session.

Functional JavaScript
Functional is a JavaScript library for functional programming. It defines the standard higher-order functions (map, reduce, filter) that you can read about elsewhere on the web. It also defines functions for partial function application and function-level programming: curry, partial, compose, guard, and until. Finally, it introduces “string lambdas”, which let you write 'x -> x+1', 'x+1', or even '+1' as synonyms for function(x) {return x+1}.

Newsmap
Newsmap is an application that visually reflects the constantly changing landscape of the Google News news aggregator. A treemap visualization algorithm helps display the enormous amount of information gathered by the aggregator.
Newsmap does not pretend to replace the googlenews aggregator. Its objective is to simply demonstrate visually the relationships between data and the unseen patterns in news media. It is not thought to display an unbiased view of the news; on the contrary, it is thought to ironically accentuate the bias of it.
